weekly poem (ok, semi-annual, but who's counting?)

This one is a long time favorite of mine, and singularly appropriate for one of the most dismal Februarys I've ever experienced. Take it to heart.

Poem

Lana Turner has collapsed!
I was trotting along and suddenly
it started raining and snowing
and you said it was hailing
but hailing hits you on the head
hard so it was really snowing and
raining and I was in such a hurry
to meet you but the traffic
was acting exactly like the sky
and suddenly I see a headline
LANA TURNER HAS COLLAPSED!
there is no snow in Hollywood
there is no rain in California
I have been to lots of parties
and acted perfectly disgraceful
but I never actually collapsed
oh Lana Turner we love you get up

- Frank O'Hara (from his Collected Poems)

For everyone who has literally or figuratively collapsed this month, myself included, I love you get up.

i broke the boredom barrier

It's been a really long time since I posted anything here, partly because I've been considering how I really want to use this space, but mostly because I've been feeling stymied creatively and have been putting most of my energy into developing new jewelry. I'm delighted to say I've come up with a new direction that I'm really enjoying. Here are two new creations in what I'm calling my Urban Seaweed collection of designs. These are both bracelets, but look for necklaces and earrings in this style in the near future, as well.
